interests have executioners in this country as well. No need to
fanaticize them.
As long as elections are held in Hungary, I think, democracy
will be all right and any government may stand up. Up till 2010
too many members of the former government had lost face and
credit with the public. Despite their catastrophic ruling they still
think they are the right ones.
Now we are to let the elected try their hands in the changes.
New ways to find in such a small region may also mean a good
investment that could be harnessed later on by others. Yes, a
corner to be forced in may bring bad ideas as well. Their task,
however, is immense since what they inherited is well known: a
giant debt inherited from I do not know from where – that just
never ends and one feels certain circles do not want it to end,
poverty, badly organized economy and establishment, lack of
enough capital, a historical shock that just does not want to
lessen and heal. Definitely Hungary has a unique history in this
region. She badly needs a friend. However, that she has few
now is not her guilt. I presume the representatives of small
countries of this kind may have high anticipation towards one
another. Who else may? In the faith of your generosity I ask
you to help the present government on its way.
Yours sincerely,
